Job profile – Brand Manager

Brand Managers are vital to businesses as they take charge of a product's image and try to use their relevance and positive publicity to grow and resonate with a customer base. They also must liaise with external clients while leading a team of Marketing Coordinators so the role requires a great deal of confidence, self-certainty and leadership. The exact nature of a Brand Manager's role will depend on the specific company and objective. The overall aim of a Brand Manager is to gain publicity and marketplace standing for a company or product, in order to boost sales and public awareness of the brand. Specific marketing strategies are highly dependant on the brand but can include events, client interaction, sponsorships and paid advertisements. Brand Managers often work their way up to become Head of Marketing, and have several years' experience in Advertising, Marketing, or Public Relations.

Requirements for being a successful Brand Manager

With that many responsibilities given, Brand Managers need to have a good work ethic. Brand Managers need to be not only creative and intuitive in terms of seeking out potential campaigns and opportunities for market growth, they must also demonstrate good business acumen to assess the marketplace and the product's potential with a keen eye for trends and new ideas, and be adaptable to a quickly changing work environment. Those who enjoy working in groups, networking and collaborating with others to find the best ideas will easily fit in this role, as with those who have a Marketing and Business background. The desirable candidate will have fantastic communication skills to allow them to liaise internally and externally with colleagues and clients to drive product campaigns and ensure successful brand launches and brand placement. Passion, professionalism and high motivation are all further personality traits which would suit this post, as is a flawless understanding of your industry. You need many years of experience in the field of Marketing and Advertising to order to gain the skills needed to succeed as a Brand Manager. Such skills are normally gained through many years of experience in the fields of Marketing and Advertising.
